Atlanta, Georgia native Kelly Rowland is probably best known as one third of the superstar pop girl-group Destiny s Child, along with Beyoncй Knowles and Michelle Williams. With Destiny s Child she had hits including Say My Name , Independent Women Part I (from the Charlie s Angles soundtrack), Survivor and Bootylicious . The group decided to go their separate ways in 2005 and Rowland embarked on her solo career. Her first solo success, however, came during a hiatus from Destiny s Child, with her 2002 solo album Simply Deep, which included the No.1 hit single Dilemma , a duet with rapper Nelly. While the album did well in the US, selling just over half a million copies, sales surpassed 1.5 million overseas and it debuted at No.1 in the UK album charts. Rowland s second solo outing, June 2007 s Ms. Kelly initially performed better in the US, debuting at No.2 in the R&B charts however after sales slumped, Rowland headed back into the studio to record a few new tracks for a reported re-release of Ms. Kelly. - Amazon
