Bret Zachary (Zachary Breaux) was born on 26. 06. 1960 in Port Arthur, Texas, died 27. 02. 1997 in Miami, Florida. Drowned while rescuing a swimmer unable to cope with a tidal wave. He started playing the guitar since 9 years. After graduation, he entered the State University of North Texas, where he studied music.
In 1984 he moved to New York, where for six years was a member of musical group vibraphonist Roy Ayers. In 1996 shodu signed a contract with the label Zebra Records. Bre on the music influenced the creative legacy of George Benson and Wes Montgomery. Zachary Bray was a versatile guitarist, he is equally well able to play soul-jazz, hard bop and postbibop, with equal ease he was given pursuant to a more commercial pop-jazz and music format NAC (radio format NAC - New Adult Contemporary - soft jazz format with the target audience of 30-45 years). Even though Bret managed to record their own album, only three (Groovin ', Laidback the label NYC Records and Uptown Groove on the label Zebra Records) for 1980-90s he was a regular participant in various jazz projects and helped musicians to record albums such Terrentayn Stanley, Jack MakDaf, Donald Byrd, Lonnie Liston Smith and Dee Dee Bridgewater. In 1984, the Bre met Roy Ayers and worked with him for several years. Signed in 1996 a contract with Zebra Records, seemed to promise a bright future for the musician, but life was tragically cut short in Bray for 36 years.
