Pierre Moerlen's Gong was a progressive Jazz/Rock/Fusion oriented band headed by french drum virtuoso Pierre Moerlen, who died in 2005. Being a spin-off of former psychedelic band "Gong", but totally different in style and musical ambitions, it is still being confused with it. This live CD captures the band on concerts recorded in spring of 1979 at The Stadium, Paris, and The Venue, London. The setlist comprises excellent tracks and musicianship of former studio albums "Gazeuse", "Expresso II", "Shamal" and "Downwind". The sound seems to be pretty much influenced by Mike Oldfield, who plays lead guitar on "Downwind" only. But, from the hearings, he must have had a more general influence on the production. "Esnuria" and "Soli" are probably the most prominent tracks on the album to demonstrate the capabilities of the musicians.
