In the twenty years since the fall of Camelot, Merlin (James Callis) has become a recluse known as "the wild man of the woods." He is now summoned by a charge of young knights as they quest to destroy an evil wizard who rules the land from a throne of a "New Camelot."

Sorcerer Arkadian has taken over Camelot with a zoo of beasts from his magical book. King Arthur s daughter Avlynn asks Merlin to help her take back Camelot. She also has to find the sacred sword Excalibur to assist her as she leads a band of knights to battle Arkadian.

Arthur discovers what it's really like to be King for the first time since his coronation after he incurs the wrath of the formidable Queen Annis. Arthur has to find the strength to be his own man and become the leader Camelot so desperately needs at the moment.
