Six Matoran from the city of Metru Nui are chosen by Toa Lhikan to become mighty Toa Metru. However, all is not well in the city, as Matoran are vanishing, Turaga Dume is acting strangely, and Toa Lhikan is captured by a pair of menacing Dark Hunters. Toa Vakama and his five brave companions must find their mask powers, dodge the ruthless Vahki enforcers, and try to free Toa Lhikan, whilst revealing Metru Nuis darkest secret.

In a land of living machines, two young ones are chosen to seek the legendary Mask of Light to reveal the savior of all the lands from the dark forces of the Rak Shekah. During the course of their adventure, they will call on the heroes of their people, the Great Toa. These Toa, masters of natures forces such as Fire, Wind, Earth & Water, try to protect the chosen ones as they seek their destiny.

The Web of Shadows concerns the return of the heroic Toa to Metru Nui. There, they find an old enemy has overtaken the great city with the help of Visorak–robotic spiders that can quickly encase anything or anybody in nearindestructible webs. The Toa undergo a bizarre metamorphosis while sealed within strange cocoons, and emerge as clunkylooking machines made up of mismatched parts.
