Mac OS X Virgin Installed 10.8 (12A269) | 4.29 GB
Requirements I would suspect are any 64 Bit Intel Macs that 10.8 supports. But I suspect some unsupported 64 bit Intel Macs or hackintosh users may be able to find a way to use this too.
And just to stress what is mentioned in the quoted text from the instructions;
This is not the installer and was meant to be restored onto a freshly formatted volume. Technicians, Mac power users and tinkerers will understand how much easier and quicker this is than using the installer. :-D
Apple OS X Mountain Lion is the latest release of the worlds most advanced desktop operating system. Mountain Lion includes over 200 new features to update your Mac into the best computing experience yet. With the new Messages app you can send text, photos, videos, contacts, web links, and documents to anyone using another Mac, iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- you can even start a conversation on one device and continue it on another. The new Share button makes it easy to share files, web pages, photos, and videos, as well as tweet right from the app you are using. With the Reminders app you can create to-do lists and alerts that appear in the new Notification Center. With Notes you can write down all your ideas and even speak your words with voice dictation. Play head to head games on your Mac with friends on their Macs or iOS devices with Game Center. And with iCloud built in, its simple to keep all your mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, notes, to do lists, music, photos, iWork files, PDFs, and more up to date across all your devices.
This was created for those of you that would rather skip all the hassles of installing a fresh OS onto a newly formatted volume.
This virgin OS has never been booted yet and will require you to create a user account.
To restore this onto a Mac GUID partitioned volume: Use Apples Disk Utility to restore it to a fresh volume or your favourite disk copying tool.
- The disk image is restore ready and you do not need to scan for restore prior to using the restore button when using Apples Disk Utility.
- Youll will need a minimum of 7 gigabytes of space but 12 gigabytes or more would be better for basic needs.
- The disk image has been custom defragged and it would be highly recommended to use Apples Disk Utility to restore the OS onto a volume to preserve the custom defrag and file prioritizing. Or if your disk copying tool has a block level copy option which will work as well.Download
