When you think about Apple® Mac®, you think about Design. But did you ever think of Computer Aided Design on Mac? ARES Commander Edition for Macintosh is here! ARES Commander Edition for Macintosh offers Apple Macintosh users professional, DWG 2010 based CAD running on native Mac OS X (no emulation!). Thus, ARES Commander Edition is the first professional CAD solution to run across Microsoft® Windows®, Apple® Mac® OS X and Linux.
The user interface is built on Qt technology, which means that it looks and works the same on Macintosh, Linux, and Windows computers. It features dockable toolbars, right-click shortcut menus, command line input, palettes, and a brand-new ToolMatrix.
ARES Commander Edition for Macintosh takes full advantage of the ease-of-use of the Apple platform while also providing the professional-level precision, features and performance.
System requirements for ARES Commander Edition for Macintosh are an Intel® x86 processor and Mac OS X 10.5.8 or above.
Compared to the Windows version, ARES supports on the Mac nearly all of almost 400 commands, including 3D ACIS based solid modeling. It does not yet support VoiceNotes and spell checking (coming soon). Naturally, it does not support the specific Windows Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) and the export of Enhanced Windows Metafile (EMF) images.
ARES Commander Edition for Macintosh supports also application development through Lisp, C/C++, and the DRX API. Naturally it does not support Windows specific technologies like VSTA, ActiveX, and COM. LISP encryption is not yet supported.
