When a corrupt businessman and the grotesque Penguin plot to take control of Gotham City, only Batman can stop them, while the Catwoman has her own agenda.

Eight year old Bruce Wayne falls into a cave where he encounters a swarm of bats. Bruce develops a fear of bats, and later urges his parents to leave an opera featuring bat like creatures. Outside the theater, Bruce Waynes parents are both killed in a robbery by mugger Joe Chill. Bruce blames himself for his parents murder: had he not been frightened, the Waynes would not have encountered Chill. He is taken in by a mysterious instructor named Ducard and urged to become a ninja in the League of Shadows, but he instead returns to his native Gotham City resolved to end the mob rule that is strangling it.

After the death of their parents the young heir Bruce Wayne Industries Corporation Wayne goes on a journey of seeking the meaning of life, the path to spiritual perfection and seeks to acquire skills that will help him in the fight against evil and injustice. That great goal he plans to devote his entire life. Back in Gotem City, Bruce discovers that his native city awash in crime. Police powerless, power purchased by criminal syndicates, and ordinary citizens do not dare go into the streets at night. Bruce clearly understands the true purpose of secret knowledge obtained in a clan ninja Watanabe.

Batman must battle Two Face and The Riddler with help of an amourous psychologist and a young circus acrobat who becomes his sidekick, Robin.

Batman & Robin try to keep their relationship together even as they must stop Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy from freezing Gotham City.
