I should probably note that Google has this page titled: “An Exercise in Futility”. This is because I had the blog titled that before I realized it would put that in the title bar of every page. I recently had the privilege of being a VIP ticket holder for the premiere of “Street Boss”, a film shot entirely in my hometown of Saginaw, Michigan. I should point out that I was a VIP ticket holder because I was involved in the production of the movie as an on-set Production Assistant. I worked on the film for 10 days, my duties spanning from picking up actors and ferrying them to set, to driving a 15-passenger van to Jackson, Michigan to shoot at the Jackson Prison (Carmen Argenziano was on set that day).

At any rate, it was last Friday (May 29th, 2009) that I put on my suit and tie (purchased a few hours earlier at Meijer’s) and made my way with my family to the premiere. The Temple Theater didn’t spare any expenses; the place was decked out. The red carpet was out, the street in front of the theater was shut down with a massive police presence (in Saginaw, four black-and-whites constitutes a massive presence). The 1,750 seat theater was sold out. It was a somewhat surreal experience.
