Otherwise his invalid mum (a sweetly warbling Brenda Blethyn) may cop it in her living room at the receiving end of Phil Davis’s shotgun -- easily the best-written and acted scenes. Danny Dyer mucks in with relative sobriety as Hassan’s best mate, and if it weren’t for some preposterous plotting to do with forgotten bets on greyhounds, and Monet Mazur giving us cringe-worthy light S&M in a poorly-handled subplot, you could almost call it solid. Still, Rio and Ashley, and indeed Fiddy, should be in no rush to give up their respective day jobs.
